NANA'S RECIPES
Hi All!
Janelle put together all of Nana's/Auntie Kay's delicious recipes. She typed them all out so beautifully in book form. She sent a PDF of it to as many people as she could. If you would like a copy of it, please email me: emilymmorin@hotmail.com. Please send your thanks to Janelle janellejamie12@gmail.com who put it all together. There are 154+ pages! I'm know it took a ton of work. What an awesome gift! Thanks Nelly!

Dana Point Family Day

I think I know how to post stuff now! So if this works, then whoo hoo! This was from yesterday. Since our regular taco day house (Welker's) is no longer available due to their move, we moved our family day to the beach! It is our favorite place to be (aside from Diz, am I right?) We had great food, a beautiful sunset, and Joe's hilarious Disneyland sound effects. We also saw Ashley and Sean's new new new baby boy, Parker for the first time. It was so fun to relax in such a beautiful place. Let's do this every time!

Our Vacation to the Dominican Republic
Joe and I went to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for a week and had an awesome time. We went "deep sea fishing" one day which was not that fantastic because we got sick, but we did go to the capital, Santo Domingo, for a day and that was cool to see all the culture. We also went on a snorkeling excursion that involved personal speed boats. That was the best part. All in all, it was a memorable vacation and we had a great time. We had a good time practicing our Spanish too. Here is a picture of Joe on the beach of the resort we stayed at.

Spain
Remember I won that trip to Spain by playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors"? Here's a picture of Toledo. These are the 17 kids from my school that went. It was an awesome trip. We were able to be in "Holy Toledo" during Semana Santa/ Easter weekend. We also went to Madrid, Mijas, Consuegra, Granada, and Ronda. Toledo was my favorite!

Letter from Grandpa Roland...
It was good to see many of you this last weekend, although the circumstances were sad.
The Bishop that spoke mentioned getting letters from Grandpa Roland that would have poems, scriptures, or song lyrics in them. It made me recall that I had received just such a note while I was on my mission. I'd like to share part of it with all of you:
Choosing the right path and being faithful to your ideals will make you always a most worth-while person. Having the courage to remain steadfast under adversity is a divine characteristic. Have you heard this bit? It is entitled "Opportunity" by Edward Rowland Sill.
This I beheld, or dreamed it in a dream:--
There spread a cloud of dust along a plain;
And underneath the cloud, or in it, raged
A furious battle, and men yelled, and swords
Shocked upon swords and shields. A prince's banner
Wavered, then staggered backward, hemmed by foes.
A craven hung along the battle's edge,
And thought, "Had I a sword of keener steel--
That blue blade that the king's son bears, -- but this
Blunt thing--!" he snapped and flung it from his hand,
And lowering crept away and left the field.
Then came the king's son, wounded, sore bestead,
And weaponless, and saw the broken sword,
Hilt-buried in the dry and trodden sand,
And ran and snatched it, and with battle shout
Lifted afresh he hewed his enemy down,
And saved a great cause that heroic day.
With courage, humility, and the Holy Ghost as your constant companion, you can accomplish anything. This gives you the “Sword of Righteousness” and makes all things possible.
